Valentine Trip to Strasbourg

Aside from being known for the being the seat of the European Parliament and to host some other European institutions such as the European Court of Human Rights; Strasbourg is also a very nice city to visit. The whole city center is on an island (the “Grande Île”) and the houses are of a typical medieval construction style with white timber-framed buildings, particularly in the Petite-France district alongside the river. The sandstone gothic cathedral is also a beautiful sight with colors that are one would not expect to see on a stone building like this. In other words, it’s a perfect place for a Valentine week-end. We had a wonderful time staying there from Saturday to Sunday in a very nice hotel that was just on the border of the city center.

After those two days in France we took the car to drive back and stopped to a hotel on Sunday night to spend the night and enjoy the “wellness” center that they have on Monday. Aside from the fact that we were the only customer that they had that night, I can honestly tell you that it was worth it, sauna, swimming, pool, nice breakfast and lunch. Overall, the whole 3 days have been absolutely great.
